Harvey Locke BVSc MRCVS
Graduated in 1969 from Liverpool University. After a period in agricultural practice in Uttoxeter Harvey returned to his native Stockport. He was a founding partner of Woodcroft Veterinary Group in 1976. His main interests are in orthopaedics and practice management. Harvey has spent much of his spare time over the last 15 years involved with the British Small Animal Veterinary Association. He was President of the BSAVA in 1999 –2000. Married with two daughters both currently at university, Harvey enjoys hill walking with Oliver, his black Labrador, off-shore sailing and gardening.

David Parker BVSc (Hons) CertSAO MRCVS
Graduated in 1983 from Liverpool University. David joined the practice in 1989 and became a full partner in 1993. With the support of the practice and his family he gained his postgraduate qualification in orthopaedics in 1995. David is married with four children. In his spare time his hobbies include supporting Everton, walking, swimming, gardening and watching numerous sporting events involving his children.

Donald Wiggins BVM&S CertSAD CertSAM MRCVS
Graduated in 1983 from Edinburgh University. Having been an associate in the practice for a number of years, Donald joined the partnership in 1993. He has obtained postgraduate certificates in both dermatology and small animal medicine. Donald and his wife Joy have two sons and a daughter. The family enjoy the outdoor life and Donald has also been known to grace local golf courses. In the practice, Donald’s special interest is internal medicine.

Liam Atkinson BVM&S CertVC MRCVS
Graduated in 1988 from Edinburgh University. Liam joined the practice in 1990 and enrolled to study for the certificate in veterinary cardiology, which he gained in 1994. He became a partner in the practice in 2000 and is responsible for nurse training. Liam lives with Jacqui and their two cats. Outside of work Liam’s main interests are rock climbing and mountaineering.

Patricia Connolly BVSc MRCVS
Graduated from Liverpool University in 1995, Patricia subsequently spent three years at Woodcroft Veterinary Group where she developed an interest in behavioural medicine, seeing cases on a first opinion basis before spending four years at a veterinary behaviour referral practice in Chester seeing cases throughout the northwest. Patricia rejoined our practice in 2003. She currently sees feline and canine behaviour cases on a referral basis including house visits and clinics. She has also lectured on behaviour topics and has contributed to both veterinary behavioural scientific publications.

Lindsey Hopley BSc BVSc MRCVS
Graduated in 2001 from Liverpool University. She joined the practice in September 2002 having worked in a practice in Congleton since qualifying. As well as having two cats at home Lindsey has a love of horses and is a keen rider. In her spare time she and her husband enjoy gardening. Lindsey’s main interest in the practice is surgery and she is currently studying for her postgraduate certificate in small animal surgery.

Dewi Jones BVMS MRCVS
Graduated in 2000 from Glasgow University. After qualifying Dewi worked in a busy RSPCA small animal hospital in Birmingham until joining us in March 2004. He is a keen surgeon with a special interest in wound management and skin reconstruction. Dewi is studying for his postgraduate certificate in small animal surgery. His hobbies include running, mountain biking and football.

Graduated in 1991 from Edinburgh University, Mark joined the practice in March 2004 having spent the previous four years in a practice in Congleton. He has a particular interest in dermatology as well as practice development and management. A family man with two children Mark enjoys gardening, countryside walking and DIY around the house.

Helen Dixon BVSC MRCVS
Graduated in 2002 from Bristol University, Helen has spent the last 18 months working in a busy small animal practice in Wigan. She joined us in July 2004 and is working towards her European General Practitioner postgraduate certificate. Helen is a keen dog owner (Boxers) and also enjoys dancing, music and films in her spare time.

Bill Manton MA VetMB CertVOphthal MRCVS
Bill graduated from Cambridge University in 1983. He developed an interest in ophthalmology by providing an internal referral service for PDSA centres in the Midlands before starting his own practice in Weaverham in Cheshire in 1997. He joined the practice in 2004 to provide an ophthalmology referral service. Bill is married with 3 teenage children and outside work his interests are playing the violin, walking and travelling.

Jane Marshall MA VetMB CertVC MRCVS
After graduating in 1987 from Cambridge University Jane joined a busy mixed practice in Penrith where she stayed until joining Woodcroft in September 2005. She attained her postgraduate certificate in cardiology in 1996. She will be working with Liam Atkinson dealing with cardiorespiratory referral cases as well as being very active in the first opinion side of the practice. In her spare time Jane enjoys hill walking in the Yorkshire Dales, Derbyshire and the Lake District. She has also recently taken up skiing.

Caroline Sharich BA VetMB MRCVS
Graduated in 1998 from Cambridge University, Caroline joined the group in June 2004 from a 24-hour emergency clinic in Leeds. She has a keen interest in emergency medicine and surgery. In her weeks off duty she is a keen walker and climber and is a full member of the Edale Mountain Rescue Team.

Kristin Kern BVetMed MRCVS
Kristin was brought up in Nebraska in the USA and came over to the UK to study veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College in London from where she graduated in 2003. Kristin has now joined our A&EVets emergency service team and is working on the night shift at Cheadle Hulme. Kristin has a special interest in emergency medicine and surgery. When not working or catching up on her sleep, Kristin enjoys mountain climbing and playing tennis.

Charlotte Platts BVM&S MRCVS
Charlie graduated from Edinburgh University in 2002. She spent a year working in a veterinary hospital in Kettering and then joined a practice in Bolton which she left in November 2005 to join our emergency service clinic. The extra time off that she will now have during the day will allow Charlie to follow her interests in horse riding, Thai boxing and playing hockey.
