Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Full Time

Stockport, Cheshire

Fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join an amazing team at Woodcroft Vets in South Manchester - First opinion four-day working week and weekend rota.

We are currently looking for an experienced (2yr+ qual) vet. We are a friendly bunch and are looking for someone who shares our values to join our progressive and enthusiastic team. There will be sole charge as part of this role, so some experience is needed. We have our own 24-hour clinic and there will be some late evening (5pm-11pm) and weekend work on a rota basis.

We are a busy 7 branch group priding ourselves on offering the very best options available for our patients with engaged client consent, supported by our own out of hours provision in our Tier 3 hospital and a multi-disciplinary certificate-led referral team in house.

We do our utmost to achieve gold standard care and have an exciting caseload which will help aide your clinical progression. The successful candidate would benefit from the full range of knowledge, expertise and equipment we have throughout the group, including advanced diagnostic imaging (CT scanner), doppler echocardiography and flexible/rigid endoscopes, direct radiography suites, ultrasound scanners, dental radiography, electrocautery, laparoscopy and advanced anaesthesia equipment.

We are situated in a lovely part of the world close to both the Peak district and the Lake district with excellent transport links and a short train ride to the vibrant City of Manchester.

We work an average 4-day week with weekends compensated with time in lieu.

1st Opinion - Registered Veterinary Nurse

WVG Councillor Lane –First Opinion RVN

Exciting opportunity at well-equipped busy First Opinion practice in Stockport

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic individual who pays high attention to detail and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for delivering a high level of nursing care to our patients and setting great examples to our student veterinary nurses.

We perform both routine and advanced surgical procedures, are well –equipped with digital radiography (including dental), ultrasound and endoscopy and can cater to most of our patients needs. We are fully supported by Woodcroft’s referral hospital a 5 minute drive away.

We offer a supportive learning environment for our nurses- CPD is encouraged and funded. Many of our nurses have achieved or are working towards certificates in further studies (anaesthesia, surgery, dentistry) and/or advanced diplomas. We host regular in-house CPD, hold ‘Clinical Club’ meetings every 3 months and the nurses are heavily involved in the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, infection control, health and safety and quality improvement.

This role is ideally full time (4-5 working days per week) but flexible working options will be considered. There will be 1 in 6 weekends. Days off in lieu given for any shifts worked at the weekend or bank holidays. There is also the possibility of twilight shifts and some emergency cover- this can be discussed during your interview.

A typical candidate should have:

  • RVN status
  • Confidence in their professional abilities
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a large team
  • Desire to offer gold standard clinical care at all times

Holiday entitlement is 22 days per annum plus bank/public holidays pro rata.

Remuneration starts at £24,000 + per annum pro rata, depending on experience

Veterinary Receptionist

Veterinary Receptionist 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a new receptionist to join the friendly team at Woodcroft Veterinary Group in Stockport.

We are looking for a reliable, outgoing, flexible, kind and caring individual with strong customer service skills.

The ideal candidate will have previous veterinary reception experience and confidence dealing with clients face to face and over the telephone. Great communication and organisational skills are important. Experience preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
